Gortex™ for Roofs
Think Gortex™ when thinking of the properties of our seamless Vantage retrofit system. Most instances of blistering occur as a result of excess moisture that has been trapped beneath a layer of a roof system. The moisture is relatively innocuous until those hot days where roof surfaces can reach temperatures in excess of 150 degrees. The heat quickly causes water to vaporize and thus swelling and/or blistering occur. This "breathability" gives our system flexibility in two critical areas unlike any conventional roof system:
Prevents Swelling and Blistering
- Evaporating moisture will breathe through the Vantage system while maintaining a weather-tight outer shell.
- Blistering and swelling are among the most common reasons for roof failure
Increases compatibility with current roof systems
- Most reasons for removing the current roof system is a presence of moisture in the current system
- The Gortex™ properties of the system allow applications to go right over the current roof system
- The curing process of the fiberglass emulsion layer actually pulls moisture from the current roof system
